  1. Elizabeth used her own weight loss transformation to Follow Her Dream

    “If we want to inspire others, we have to achieve success ourselves.”

    That’s what Elizabeth Christian, a telephone saleswoman and aspiring motivational speaker, believes — and it’s exactly what she held onto as she worked to lose weight and get in shape.

    Elizabeth has always been a go-getter in her life. She competed in international speaking competitions and won, was always at the top of her game in her career and always competed whole-heartedly.

    “I’ve always been an all-or-nothing kind of person,” Elizabeth said. “When I do something I give it my all, or I don’t do it at all.”

    But the one area she always struggled with was her weight, which got even worse after her husband got ill and eventually passed away. To cope, Elizabeth would eat — until at 5-foot, 6-inches, she ballooned to 233 pounds.

    “I’m a classic person who struggles with my weight,” Elizabeth said. “You’ve heard of emotional eaters...I eat when I’m sad, happy, whatever. I find every excuse to eat, and the weight piles on.”

    And it was that struggle that held Elizabeth back from fulfilling her dream — to become a motivational speaker and to use her own experiences to inspire others. 

    “It was keeping me from my dream,” she said. “I didn’t want to get up in front of everyone when I was that overweight.”

    Elizabeth joined a gym, and when the gym started a 90-day weight loss competition where the winner would receive $10,000, she went all-in. She hired a nutritionist and personal trainer and started to drop the weight. 

    Unfortunately, like most things in life, nothing worked out like she planned. Two weeks in, Elizabeth injured her IT band and was forced to drop out of the competition.

    But Elizabeth refused to give up. She continued to work with her trainer and eventually joined a kickboxing class, a big step for her and way outside her comfort zone.

    “I was so used to coming home, putting my nightgown on, sometimes eating and drinking too much and watching going to a kickboxing class at 7 p.m., that was really different for me.”

    Not long after, Elizabeth’s employer also launched a weight loss contest. Elizabeth joined, and she noticed soon after that her coworker had lost a significant amount of weight. When she asked him how he’d done it, he recommended Diet-to-Go. 

    “I signed up right away for the breakfast-lunch-dinner, 7-day meal plan, and that’s when the weight just came right off,” Elizabeth said. “I could count on the fact that I was losing 2-4 pounds a week*. I was super happy.”

    Elizabeth won the weight loss competition and an iPad. Committed to the Diet-to-Go program, she lost 60 pounds in 11 months*.

    “Diet-to-Go was perfect for me,” she said. “I don’t like to cook. I don’t like to figure out portions. You don’t have to think about it. It’s all done for you.”

    Elizabeth’s transformation was the catalyst she needed to pursue her lifelong dream. She started a website: and began crafting her personal story into something she could use to touch others.

    So far, she’s developed two speeches: one on how to succeed in phone sales; and the other on how to transform your life and gain true happiness.

    “My transformation journey has changed everything for me, and, for that, I will always be grateful,” Elizabeth said. “Being fit is critical to my goals..when you’re fit, it reflects in everything you do. I want to inspire you.”
